The official AAU Taekwondo Dan Program launched a renewed, updated version on January 12, 2026, offering a modernized online application platform and new Black Belt certificates to unify the community. The program serves as a national standard for Dan (Black Belt) certification, featuring new leadership, updated, and a focus on recognizing student-athlete dedication.
Who Is This Program For?
Taekwondo practitioners who are ready to test for their first or next
Black Belt (Dan) rank.
• Email aau.tkd.dan@gmail.com to request further information. Attach a copy of your current AAU Taekwondo annual membership to this initial communication.
Taekwondo Black Belts who already have a Dan certificate either from their local school, or another organization, and would like to have that current rank recognized with an equivalent AAU Dan Certificate, instead of waiting until their next testing opportunity.
With an AAU Taekwondo "Dan Match," the date on your new AAU Certificate will match your original reference certificate so that it will not delay your next testing opportunity.
4th Dan and higher Black Belts with current AAU Taekwondo Certification who would like to become authorized AAU Taekwondo Dan Program Recommenders.
