This year's AAU Junior Olympics will likely bring many new records across the 19 events taking place in Detroit, Michigan. This will prove to be even more true for 19 year old Matt Sohmer, who will be attempting many record breaking and historical lifts in the Powerlifting event. 
Matt is already the youngest person to squat 800 lbs, which he looking to increase at the Junior Olympics. In addition, he is looking to become the #1 ranked raw Powerlifter in the world at this year's meet. Matt, along with all of the other Powerlifting participants will begin competition tomorrow morning at the Cobo Center in Detroit.
